NAMED ONE OF THE TOP 10 GOLF BOOKS OF THE 20TH CENTURY
-Golf World Magazine

NAMED ONE OF THE TOP 25 GOLF BOOKS EVER WRITTEN
-Travel & Leisure Golf Magazine

Published in 1997, the first edition of The Clubmaker's Art received widespread acclaim. Golf World listed it among the top 10 golf books of the 20th century. Travel and Leisure Golf called it the "heavyweight champion-literally" and included it on a list of the top 25 golf books ever written. It won the prestigious Murdoch Medal, awarded in Great Britain for outstanding achievement in golf literature.

The best just got bigger and better. The Clubmaker's Art - Second Edition Revised and Expanded consists of 784 pages in two volumes in a slipcase. It includes every club found in the first edition plus 220 more. The page size is 20% larger than the first edition. The complete set weights 15.9 pounds, twice that of the first edition.

All the original images have been redone, and over 400 new images have been added. All the layouts have been reworked and extensive new information has been included. Many exceedingly rare and historically important clubs have been added to every chapter in the book. The section on fakes and replicas is five times as large as that in the first edition.

Only 250 leather bound sets will be produced, each individually numbered and signed by the author. The books will be bound using two different leathers and will have gilded pages. 2800 regular edition sets, complete with slipcase and dustjackets will be sold. In total, this is around half of the entire production run of the first edition.

The Clubmaker's Art - Revised and Expanded is the most complete, in-depth book on antique golf clubs ever written. Over 1,250 pictures illustrate over 850 clubs selected from among the most valuable, historical, and rare antique clubs in the world. Hundreds of others are described and identified. The text, written after extensive research in the United States and the United Kingdom, documents not only the clubs but also their makers and users. Original source material is quoted extensively.
