Alignment Aids

Chapter thirteen provides an in-depth look at those clubs designed specifically to line up the ball with the hole or to line up the ball with the sweet-spot on the face. T-Frame putters, projecting faces, raised directional bars, ball shaped faces, imbedded alignment bars, pointed backs, and others are presented in detail.

  • There is no mistaking the sweetspot on William Gibson's "Jonko" putter, produced in the mid-1920s with both steel and wood shafts. The wood shaft model is the more desirable model. The top of the hosel on the wood shaft examples is thicker than it is on the steel shaft examples.
