Oversize & Undersize
Chapter fifteen provides a detailed look at those club distinguished by their size. Giant clubs, super giant clubs, juvenile clubs, miniature clubs, and oversize clubs are presented. So, too, are dreadnaught, jumbo, midget, overlength, underlength, long blade, and short blade clubs as well as clubs for one-arm golfers.
Modeled after a croquet mallet, Hamilton's Pendulum Putter is pictured here next to a gutta percha ball, to show its huge size. When introduced in 1890, this putter was reviewed and recommended only to those who suffered from vertigo, headaches, or confused vision when "stooping" to putt--and to women!
